Pontifical Academy for Life - instituted in 1994 by Pope John Paul II with the aim of studying, in an interdisciplinary perspective, problems concerning the promotion and defence of life, of informing the authorities of the Church, and of the various institutions of biomedical science and social and Health organizations, about the results of its studies, and of fostering a culture of life in conformity with the Magisterium of the Church.  Whilst autonomous, the Pontifical Academy for Life is linked to the Pontifical Council for Pastoral Assistance to Health Care Workers and the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith. The website is in English, Italian and Spanish.

Pontifical Council for Pastoral Assistance to Health Care Workers - An Official council of the Vatican curia, set up by Pope John Paul II in 1985, to stimulate and promote the study, work and education of international Catholic organizations in health care. It also coordinates the work of the Roman Curia as it relates to health care problems and spreads, explains and defends the teachings of the Church on health care issues.
